We believe that Emma (short haired) and Tillie (long haired) are sisters. Theyre just over a year old and love to play with each other. We think theyve been together since birth! We've never seen them argue or fight (and certainly never over food)! Theyve got friendly temperaments and just want to be with people. Emma really likes to sit on your lap her face is so sweet! And Tillie is a little timid but is just as loving and tender. Since theyve been together so long, we're almost convinced they should stay together if possible. If they were to get a whole lot of individual attention, they MIGHT be able to be separated .
These two girls were taken to a vet to be euthanized because that town does not have an animal control shelter. Of course, the local vet did not agree that they should be euthanized but didnt know who could take them in. Were fostering them at our home, even though we have six dogs that live with us (we have a doggie door and they go in and out as they please).
On Saturday, April 28, the vet gave them their rabies/DHLPP shots and checked them over (luckily they didnt have any worms!) but they did have ticks so we put Front Line Plus on them. We had them heartworm checked (it was negative), so we immediately gave them Interceptor (monthly pill). Weve taken them to two Adopt-A-Pets but theyve been a little shy and at May 5ths Adopt-A-Pet they were competing with about 14 puppies that were six weeks old. Naturally, everyone was drawn to the puppies!
Were hopeful that someone will see these girls on PetFinder and will want to adopt them! They hardly ever bark (unless a dog comes into our yard thats not supposed to be there!) and are very laid back and friendly sisters. They tend to sleep behind the bushes up next to our house (its cooler and maybe they feel protected there). They do come in the house some and do seem to be housetrained.
Please call to make an appointment to see them, or look for our next Adopt A Pet date on our Petfinder home page. Updated July 6.
Pets For Life Rescue has decided as a group not to ship our pets, the prospective owners must be able to come see the pets in person. There is also an application to be approved.
