Achilles was surrendered to animal control by his owner. He is a young purebred Great Dane. He gets along with female dogs and is good with kids. He does bark as a watch dog, and is used to being an outside dog, though he would probably learn to be in inside dog quickly. His new home must have a wood privacy fenced yard.
Achilles is still "puppy" in age and actions. He does need some training and plenty of exercise and dog safe things to chew on. He does good with "sit", learned that very quickly. He would do best in a home experienced with Great Danes.
Achilles is neutered, up to date on vaccinations, tested negative for heartworms and has been started on monthly heartworm prevention. He weighs about 115 pounds. Because of his being a purebred (no papers of course), he is a VIP. Which means his adoption fee will be higher than most in our group in order to help pay for some of the mixed breed dogs that have very low adoption fees and dogs that have needed extra medical care. His fee is $300.
