Abbey was a stray that several people wanted to help, they fed her and tried to get her to come to them, but she was shy. The Animal Control tried to catch her, the people ran an ad in the paper, but no one called to claim her.

We went to see her, it took 2 hours for her to trust one of the nice people enough to put a leash on the collar she was wearing. So we took her home, and she is now feeling like part of the family.

She will need a special family that she will feel comfortable with, she would rather be in a home without young children. Abbey is a very sweet, loving lap dog that weighs 21 pounds, she's about 2 years old. She is house trained, does good on a leash and loves to sleep in bed with someone.

We think she looks like a corgi and border collie mix. She has had all her shots and been spayed, and she tested negative for heartworms, and is on heartworm prevention. She loves to play with other dogs, so if you need a playmate for your own dog, give Abbey a try.

Abbey's adoption fee is $50 since she has been with us so long. She and Buddy get along very well and love to play, so if they could be adopted together that would be good.
