UPDATE: Brownie has had his leg amputated, and is doing great with running and playing around without his back left leg. He is now ready to be adopted to his forever home!!
Brownie is a chihuahua, and he probably has Min Pin in him too. He is about 2 years old, weighs about 7 pounds, and is a sweetheart. He was a stray that found a family to stay with, but he was hit by a car and they couldn't afford to take him to the vet. They called us to take him. His leg was broken just above his knee and had already begun to "heal" but not correctly. He had no use of the leg, so it was amputated.
Brownie tested negative for heartworms, so he has been started on Interceptor. He had his shots, and has been neutered, and is ready to go to a loving home that will take extra special care of him. He did get out of the chain link fenced yard once, so he obviously is an escape artist. So he will need a family that will watch him and hopefully give him so much love and attention that he won't want to escape. He must be part of the family and stay in the house except for potty breaks.
Brownie should be ok with children over 5 years. Any children need to understand how to handle such a small dog that only has 3 legs. His adoption fee is $75.
The first step if you are interested in meeting Brownie is to fill out our Adoption Application .
After your application has been approved, we will set up an appointment to meet.
Pets For Life Rescue has decided as a group not to ship our pets, the prospective owners must be able to come see the pets in person.
