Description:
Jedidiah (Jedi for short) is a very active Dalmatian boy looking for his perfect home. When we got Jedi in, he had to have surgery for his eye because his lower eyelid was curled up inside of his eye. That is now fixed completely though, and he shouldn't have any more problems with that.
He was at first very shy of people, we are not sure of his past exactly, he might have been abused or just not socialized at all. He barks at new people if they are outside of his house/yard. He has never bitten anyone, but Dalmatians are said to be a more aggressive breed.
He does not like most other male dogs, only if they are younger and not dominant, he will get along with them. I would say he would do best with a female. He has never actually had the chance with a cat, but if he sees a stray cat outside the fence he goes crazy and acts like he wants to attack it, so I would say he would be best in a home without cats, for the cats safety.
Jedi is only 2 yrs old, so he is still very energetic, we have tried to work with him in our spare time away from work, and he has gotten a little better, but he is still not completely house trained. As most males who are neutered later on in their life, he likes to hike. So he just needs to be taught that is not what he can do inside his new house.
Jedi loves to play, to run, and go for car rides. He would do best with someone who has a lot of time to spend with him. He will not be an outside dog, he is an inside dog right now and especially from his short hair would not do well at all in the cold outside.
If you are interested in meeting Jedi, please fill out an application at www.pawfirst.com
His adoption fee is $200, which covers only part of what was spent on his medical bills.
